GOD IN YOU: Releasing the Power of the Holy Spirit in Your Life

 

Walk into any church in America and give a general knowledge quiz about the members of the Trinity and my guess is that the lowest scores will be for the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, however, it is not just a lack of information that keeps us from walking in the Spirit.  The church's weakness has far more serious roots than a lack of knowledge. A lack of belief is the greater problem. An overwhelming majority of Americans embrace Christianity as their faith, but a majority of those ignore God's Holy Spirit as the power for living in the 21st Century.  Could there be a connection between the condition of our culture, the failure of the Church to impact the culture, and the failure of the professing Church to embrace the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity? How can we open the Bible and read a verse like Ephesians 5:18, "Be filled with the Holy Spirit," and then pack our lives so completely with entertainment, technology, information, and more that there is no room for God to work in us and through us?  Truly, the Holy Spirit has become the forgotten member of the biblical Godhead. And without a recovery of sound doctrine concerning Him and daily faith in Him, the body of Christ will only get weaker.  Join us each Sunday morning at 9:30am or 11:00am as we worship in the Spirit and grow in the Spirit - God in You!
