Worship Pastor Search Team

Worship is the central theme of the Word of God and the sole purpose of our existence as God's creation. As a local congregation, Plano Bible Chapel is a body of professing Christians who have joined together for the purpose of glorifying God individually and collectively. The apostle Paul said it this way: "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God's glory" (1 Corinthians 10:31)

We were made to worship. Biblical Worshipers first recognize and revere the Triune God for all that He is, all that He has done, & all that He will do and then respond with all of their hearts and all of their lives. Worship is certainly more than just a synonym for music, but we can't get away from the numerous passages that call us to musical praise. Music is the language of our hearts. And where our music must be centered on God's Word, melody often picks up where mere words leave off in expressing our praise to Him. It fills in the blanks of our wonder and our praise. Worship also provides a critical link in drawing together the hearts of God's people to hear and respond to Him as disciples of Jesus Christ. In order for us to make disciples and continue discipleship from one generation to another, we need to be able to worship inter-generationally (Psalm 78:1-8). It is our desire that the Lord leads PBC to a pastor of worship and music who has the musical skills and more importantly, the theology of God's Word and the heart of a shepherd, in order for us to glorify God and carry out His Word as the Body of Christ.

To that end, Plano Bible Chapel is seeking a mature, growing believer with a pastor's heart who has formal music training, some formal Bible/Theological training, and evidence of worship leading gifts to skillfully combine Scripture and music in order encourage our multi-generational congregation in corporate worship. Resumes may be sent to the Worship Pastor Search Committee (Attn: Jeff Edmunds) by mail or

Search Committee Members include Jeff Edmunds (chairman), Lisa Brown, Tim Hagar, Jesse Hensarling, III, Sharon Lewis, Susan McKenzie, Larry Murray, Van Sharp, Percy Phillips, and Nancy Terrall.

Please continue to pray for the Lord's Holy Spirit to lead and direct the Worship Pastor Search Committee to the candidate of the Lord's choosing as they consider various individuals for the pastoral role. May the Lord continue to prepare us as a church, as well, to follow the Lord's leading through the godly leadership of the man He chooses.
